Umbra Orthfethio is a Great Knight who was a part of the Northern Expedition that went north. He has a dark grey wolf named Shadow that seems to be around at all times.
Backstory[]
Umbra was born sometime after the Expedition took place. However, when he was young his village was raided by Dark Mages and they took him captive to experiment on him. Using Dark Magic they infused him with their newly created Shadowfire, a dark fire that burns metal, not wood and cloth like normal fire. However, soon Umbra began to manifest other powers, such as the power to summon a Wolf seemingly at will. The Dark Mages watched this closely, eager to learn what their new creation could do. After a while Umbra began to show signs of mental degeneration. As he became more insane, his powers began acting up wildly, often scorching nearby areas of any metal. The Dark Mages then decided to have him as an agent, stripped of his powers. However, due to the nature of Shadowfire they couldn't entirely remove it, but could greatly suppress it. Afterwards they attempted to send him back in time, however they sent him farther back than they anticipated and lost contact with him. He was raised in Swordwrath and moved up north, where he became a citizen of the Great Knights. He then joined the military at age 30, he spent a lot of his time at the library, studying military tactics. As he began studying, he often had nightmares about mages torturing him. He joined the First Into the North, the first joint venture between the Kingdom of Havik and the Great Knights in a 100 years at age 60.
Personality[]
He is experienced in military matters having joined when he was young. He is secretive, having many 'secrets'. He is also quite a bookworm, though not as much as Hatholaeg, and also likes animals.
